Sheet metal processing is not a single method but a chain. Producing a metal part usually requires cutting, punching, bending and joining to be applied in sequence. Which of these steps you need depends on the geometry of the part, the production quantity and the material.

At our facility in Kahramankazan, Ankara, all of these steps run under one roof. Because the part does not move between workshops, lead times shorten, the risk of dimensional deviation drops and you have a single point of contact throughout. Which Method for Which Job?

For free-form, complex geometries and relatively low quantities, laser cutting stands out; because it requires no die, it is economical even for a single part.

Where the same hole or form repeats many times and quantities are high, punch press offers speed and unit cost advantage.

When the cut part needs an angle or a form, press brake bending takes over; the flat sheet becomes a box, a profile or a body at this step.

If the parts need to be permanently joined, welded manufacturing is carried out with MIG/MAG welding.

Most projects use these methods together. A machine body, for example, is laser cut, bent on the press brake and joined by welding.

From Drawing to Finished Part

1. Drawing or sample. You send us a DXF or DWG file; a dimensioned PDF technical drawing also works. If you have no drawing, we take measurements from a sample part and prepare it ourselves. The bend allowance flat pattern is also derived at this stage.

2. Cutting. Depending on part geometry and quantity, cutting is done by laser or punch press. Material type and thickness are the main criteria in choosing the method.

3. Bending. Cut parts are bent on the press brake. In serial work the first part goes through dimensional inspection and, after approval, production continues with the same settings.

4. Welding and inspection. Where required, parts are joined by MIG/MAG welding, the welds are cleaned and a final dimensional check against the technical drawing is carried out before dispatch.

What determines the price of sheet metal processing?

It is not possible to quote a single price per square metre or kilogram. Cost is determined together by material type and thickness, part geometry, the number of operations (cutting, bending, welding) and the production quantity. The unit price of the same part differs between 10 and 1,000 pieces, so quotes are calculated from your drawing and quantity.

Are all operations carried out in the same facility?

Yes. Laser cutting, punch press, press brake bending and MIG/MAG welding all run at our facility in Kahramankazan, Ankara. Because the part does not travel between workshops, lead times shorten and the risk of dimensional deviation drops.

Do you supply the material or do we send it?

Both are possible. You can have us take on material supply, or send your own sheet and take labour only.

Lead time varies with the scope of the job, the number of operations and the production quantity. Sample and single part work is completed noticeably faster than serial orders. The exact lead time is committed at the quotation stage once your drawing has been reviewed.
